Commonly known as the Tapestry Turban, Turbo Petholatus (snake skin), is a species of sea snail, marine gastropod mollusk in the family Turbinidae. It averages three inches tall. This species lives in the Red Sea and in the Indian Ocean off Madagascar, Mozambique, Chagos and Mauritius. It also can be found in the West Pacific and from Western Australia to southern Queensland. As with all of our finials, the shell is mounted on an independent swivel, so it can be spun to any position.
